This doll is the first to have been manufactured industrially in Africa in the 1960s by a factory in Ghana, held by Indians specialized since the colonial era in the production of kettles and plastic cans, and who have one day decided to create balloons and dolls.

Originally called "Auntie deidei", an expression that means "the first born", heavy in a matriarchal society like Ghana where the guarantee of the lineage is assured by the elder sister, it is first sold in West Africa.

Renamed "Clonette", in reference to its massive production, it finally exports all over the world and becomes an object of collection and decoration.
